Thank you so much!

Lila, thank you so much for reading my blog and recognizing me with a Stylish Blogger Award! I am flattered and sending virtual flowers your way. Please take a minute to visit Lila's stylish blog Pretty Powder.

If you knew me you would know....

My favorite flower is the Peony.

My father is 86 and was born in 1924 to medical missionaries in China. His mother wrote an inspiring book about family and faith entitled "Joy Cometh in the Morning" Psalm 30:5
Faith and family are at the center of who I am.

I can not say no! On any given day I have over committed to many, many, many local nonprofits. I believe in making a difference in the community and in the world before I die.

My favorite color is blue.

I love to blog about color but my own home is filled with a subtle, natural palette of taupes and grays, soft blues, aged woods and linen. This is not my house but it is TOTALLY me!

Last year, I drove to Charlotte to meet my sister to tour the Mint Museum's annual Tour of Homes, only to discover that we are wearing the same dress. Not a subtle, nondescript dress either. It was from Boden. Need I say more! It was bright yellow linen with big graphic brown and gray sunflowers. We tried to space out in the line and the young girl taking tickets said and I quote "Oh look...did you know you are wearing the same dress? How cute!" After that, we decided to have fun with it. I love having a sister! Not only are we known to wear the same outfit, we have given each other the same gift for Christmas {on more than one occasion!}.

I talk to my dog all the time and even threatened to teach her French as I obviously need the practice after my trip to France. My family is requesting to see the "sheepskin" as they are in total disbelief that I ever had any former French education.

I have been cave diving in the remote cenotes of Mexico, seen incredible sea life by flashlight off the coast of Honduras and skied in powder up to my waist at Grand Targhee near Jackson Hole. {My daughter says it gets deeper every year!}. My quest for adventure has slowed down but not my love for the outdoors.

I hoard fabric. {No really! It might be an obsession!}

I crave sunshine. At any given time, you will find me in the sunniest spot in the house.

I went to UNC, Chapel Hill and my dearest friends from college and I still go to the beach every year. Cheers to the Carolina Ya-Ya sisterhood~ 25 years and counting!

I like futball not football and wish girls played soccer at my high school.

I grew up going to open houses on Sunday and touring houses under construction. I guess that's where it all began! My mom was in real estate for 25 years and used to bribe us with candy on the way to the beach each year so she and my father could stop at "Son Thomas Antiques" in Cheraw, SC. My mom is a fabulous cook and currently, dabbles in antiques. I should mention that antiques are referred to as the "family addiction!"

I love to cook and my family gets really nervous when I find the need to get creative.

Browsing through the magazines in the grocery store line, I have decided to purchase a magazine that intrigues me only to arrive home and learn I already have it! Unfortunately, this happens to me on a regular basis.

My brother is way cool! He is the man behind an antique business called "Rusk." He sells black forest, lodge camp accessories and antlers. He lived in Colorado for the first ten years after college and skied while selling antiques to local interior designers.

Interior Design is my passion but not my profession.

A lot of my friends think I am a total weirdo for blogging!
I am really not big on sharing pictures of myself but her it goes...

You can thank the "Stylish Bloggers Award" for these all-you-ever-wanted-to-know things about Allison. Tomorrow, I will be awarding seven of my favorite blogs and passing on the love.
