Are you entertaining this weekend? This deconstructed bloody mary appetizer makes an enticing summer starter. Juicy cherry tomatoes soak in a sharp vodka mixture for two days and up to two weeks.
{Bloody Mary Bites}
Prick the cherry tomatoes with a needle or skewer and put them in a bowl. Mix all the Bloody Mary ingredients together and pour over the tomatoes. Place in the fridge and leave for at least 2 days and up to 2 weeks. Bring tomatoes up to room temperature. Dip in the salt mixture before eating.
The Bloody Mary Mixture
Approximately 16oz vodka
splash sherry
splash Worcestershire sauce
splash tabasco
1 tsp grated horseradish, optional
4-5 sprigs thyme
sprinkle celery salt
For dipping, mix salt and celery salt together in a decorative bowl.
My favorite appetizer plate is from Earthborn Pottery. I love the earthy glazes and handmade atheistic. I think Bloody Mary Bites would look particularly attractive against the blue glaze with the salt in one of these little bowls.
{Lee Industries}
I love the new outdoor line by Lee Industries designed by Cindy Smith of Circa. I would love to enjoy a summer evening with friends around this table.
Have a nice weekend!
